Monday: What a beautiful weekend--if only Mizzou would have won. We will continue to work on reformatting PC's and any other things that come up. Please have your vocabulary finished by Wednesday. We will quiz on each section on Thursday and Friday.
I went down to try to install Auto Cad on coach K's student computer. The disc drive didn't work in it. So I tried to bring down another drive, but that didn't show up either. In the device manager, it's missing a pci multimedia device.
I worked on the computers in the lab. Went down to Coach K's room and brought the computer that everyone has had trouble with up to the lab. Also the printer in the lab is out of ink idk where to find ink to replace it with if someone would take care of that please it would be appreciated.
I started working on formatting the computers on the table when Mrs. Kempker called from the Rock House, she was in a meeting, and told me that the computer that Richard and I had worked on Friday was brought back up from Mr. Karsten's room because it need some software on it but the CD Drive wasn't working. So I unhooked the computer I was working on and plugged in Mr. Karsten's and tried to fix it... first I switched out the Data ribbon and that didn't work, I took a new CD drive and put it in and that one didn't work either, so I took yet another CD drive out of our storage and tried that one and it worked wonderfully! I asked Matt for the Software that was needed on the computer and he gave it to me but when I looked at the computer it was already on there so I dont know why I had to get the CD driver to work, but the bright side is that it worked and thats fine with me. Then I finished the day by plugging the computer that I was working on before, back in and continued working on it till the bell rang... Seeing as this is a blog and I have something about computers to talk about for the day I think I will share it. When I got home my sister needed on the computer because she had a project to do for some teacher and I said ok.. after a little over 2 hours I came back into the family room and sat by her, because she still wasn't done, and was going to wait untill she finished when all the sudden, not even sitting there for 3 minutes a pop-up showed up and I could see the monitor and by the look of the screen and what I could tell it said, it looked like my computer had a virus on it.. My sister gave me a dumbfounded look and I told her to get up and let me take a look at it. It was the same thing that happened to Mrs. Pragman's computer at school only that one said "Internet Antivirus Pro" mine only said "Internet Antivirus" so without messing with any of the windows that popped up (one said that it found 3 trojan's and another one popped up saying that I needed to install it to remove the trojan's) I went to friendly ol' Google and went a' researching before I did anything with it. I remembered Mrs. Pragman's machine when I typed Internet Antivirus into Google and made the connection but I continued to look at the results anyway. It was basically the same stuff only it showed me how to remove it but it was never on my computer because I never messed with any of the windows so I felt proud of myself and closed Google, closed the first pop up and when I went to close the Internet Window that it also popped up it gave me the option to "Okay" or "Cancel" but outsmarting it again I didn't mess with the browser at all. I opened up the Task Manager and ended the browser that way so I wouldnt have to deal with it at all.. Ended up running a virus scan on the whole machine though, just in case.
I finished putting the software on the right computer, shut it down, then blew it out. Stacked that computer and started a new one. It was almost finished with reformatting when we had to leave.
Today I went to Coach K's room to try and install some drivers and software. Well the cd driver that was in the computer didn't work so I brought down a different one, that one didn't work either. So I came back up and got a different one. By this time the hour was almost over but I did get all the drivers and software fully installed but I didn't have time to replace the cd driver. Evan and Roo did that later though so it's all good. I didn't have any awesome computer problems at my house like Evan, except that my computer locked up on me twice when I was turning it on. My computers getting old and is probably in desperate need of a reformat. My dad's business stuff is on my computer though so I can't really do that until I take my computer to college and my mom has to put my dads business stuff on our other computer. In the end though I did get my computer fully booted up and I could work on my vocab terms which I finished. I know this is no where near as long as Evans but I tired and that's all that matters. We can't all have epic problems like Evan and his downgraded Vista.
