Monday: I am at a conference at the Lake today and Tuesday. I want you to work on reformatting the PC's from Mrs. Buschjost's room. I also want each of you to blog before the end of the hour and tell what you accomplished on the computers that are on the counter. That way the next hour can check the blog and see what is left to do on those machines. Communitation is the key and this is the tool to use. I will be checking the blog from the conference and home and leave messages as I see necessary. Be good and stay in the lab.

Ok, I cannot figure out what to do on the second computer(one on the left) It's saying that a problem has been detected and to check the computer for any viruses and gives about another 2 tips, but I can't get to windows. I've pressed about every button/button combination to try to get out of the mode, but nothing is working. I pressed f8 hoping to get into safe mode, but the message comes up before it can get to safe mode....haha, but of course, I figured it out!! when it started with that message, it wouldn't boot the cd, but when you reboot it, it gave the option to boot from the cd!! So I don't know where it was at, but I'm reformating it if it needs it or not. I didn't know what else to do. As for the computer on the left, this is what's done: Novell, Vexira, Office, Print shop, printer loaded, Windows updates, acrobat reader, and sonic MyDVD. So still needs IP #'s, gateway #...ect, blow dust, clean slate, and renaissance Place, (started to get necessary programs, but then ran out of time) Sorry for the long note Matt and everyone else that reads this... :(

Well our worst fears have come true. We are major blogers because of the way we have to work today. But anyways. I finished the computer Brian started on and started a new one. The computer on the left (the one closest to the hallway) is reformated but I didn't get any of the software put on it. The one on the right (the one farthest away from the door aka Brian's trouble maker) is being extermly slow and took forever to copy the files over during the reformating process. So I decided to write this with 10 minutes left in class. So Garrick, you need to try and install all the software on those two computers that way Evan and Roo can start on two new ones and then Cole and Adam can finish those two and Brian can start the whole process over again tomorrow. It's a solid plan that will work, if everybody get's done what they need to get done. Hopefully these two computers will be at the point I set for you Garrick, sorry if there not. Dang I posted a lot.

Well frack, the one farthest away from the door (MSLAB 3) isn't working properly and I have no idea what's wrong with it. So Garrick you can try and figure it out if you want or you can unplug it and start a new one and let the rest of the guys try and figure it out. But anyways my plan is shot to hell now so just try and finish.

Okay the one on the right is a pain in my behind the only thing I could think of to do is start from scratch so I started to reformat it. And it seems to be working thus far good luck to the rest of the people with that pain in the butt computer. I also set up novell on the computer on the left. I aslo installed Print Shop on that computer. I forgot how to get to the h: drive though thus I could not install vexira.

Today I finished the computer on the right, so there is nothing for you to do on it. I installed MANY software programs on it. I also blew the computer out.

I installed Windows and all necessary drivers on MSLAB 5 (For future reference, let's use computer names instead of left and right to avoid confusion)

Alright, first I agree that computer on the right (MSLAB3) is a pain!! It was almost all the way done installing windows then it froze so I had to reformat it again. and it is almost done reformatting Adams going to finish it before his next hour.

I worked on the computer on the right while Richard worked on the computer on the left. I used the disk that was in the cd drive when I got in there, but when I was having trouble with that cd I switched it out with one of the other ones that were lying out there. I it was still going very slowly when I left, but I helped Richard with the computer on the left while I waited. We finished the one that he was working on and he blew it out and we switched it out for another one.

I suppose I will just continue posting under yesterday's date. Let's see...On the right, MSLAB 3 is still biting us in the butt. (but not as hard) well i soon discovered that the top drive on it is not reading any cd discs, so you have to use the bottom one for installing software (unless of course you know how to fix the top driver. It was missing a sound driver and ethernet. So I installed software for the sound driver, and not thinking about the ethernet, I went ahead and installed Novell...so I had to log in as workstation only to download the ethernet drive, but I didn't get to it. One the left MSLAB 5 I installed Novell, Vexira (updated), office, print shop, acrobat reader, and printer. And I CANNOT find the Sonic MyDVD disc!!! I don't know what happened to it.... :(

Ok I'm following Brian. I'm trying to start a new MSLAB6 the power switch is broken on it and we need someone with small hands to fix it (aka Garrick) it's pretty easy to what is wrong. So fix that and it needs to be reformatted. MSLAB3 is still causing problems it won't read the print shop disk, the drivers are installed, novel is working, vexair is working. so garrick you don't have any excuses not to get anything done today. Mulit tasking is the key.

I have installed cleanslate on the computer on the right. I have reformatted the computer on the left and fixed that dang clip. I could not get the stupid driver to read print shop it would act like it was going to install then shut down. So I reboot the computer that didn't work and I tried the other drive I think it was drive D and that didn't work so my plans have failed. For some reason the faceplate on the one on the left I could not get back on so ya someone needs to do that. I updated windows on the computer on the right and updated vexira. If anyone can figure out why it won't download Photoshop please install it. I installed Microsoft office on the left computer. The right one still needs it not sure why it is not on there yet but okay. I installed the audio driver on the left computer also and that was about all I did good luck boys.

WOW I finished MSLAB3!!!!!!! I downloaded renaissance reader and all its components and that took time so thats all I got to I'm pretty sure that computer is DONE.

Today, I finished up on MSLAB6 all it needed was an audio driver and I also un-installed adobe media player. I'm not sure how it got there, but it kept popping up at startup. As for tomorrow me and Cole reformatted and installed windows on MSLAB7&8.

Also something of note is that our air compressor has a gash in the hose, next to the part where we spray air out of.

Adam said...

Well actually MSLAB7 will have to be reformatted because Windows did not install properly.

Evan said...

I worked on MSLAB6, sorry Adam, for some reason it installed Adobe Media player by itself. First I installed the Ethernet Driver, then Novell, Vexira, put Ren. on it, updated IE and put cleanslate on it.

Did not get time to post. I worked on MSLAB-3 i think. It has been taking forever. I just installed software on it. I think it needs only 2 more programs on it.
