Tech Tidbit
Sometimes a computer makes noises when it starts up or is trying to startup but never does. Mrs. Crawford's pc was giving me 3 long beeps and wouldn't show anything on the screen. There are websites that will tell you what the beep codes mean. When the computer starts up it is running a post test and the beep codes result from a failure in that post test. I want everyone to go to this website: http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm and read the Post ABC's and the Steps of a Post. Then scan down the document to see what the beep codes can mean. The 3 long beeps indicated there was somthing wrong with the memory so I shut the machine down, took out the memory and put it back in. The computer booted right up. Simple fix if you know where to look for help.
