Friday: TGIF--thanks for all the help in moving PC's, monitors, etc.... next week we will be setting up everything we took down there. Chapter 3 must be finished and test taken on Monday!!! Have a good weekend.

Thursday: Well the day finally came for us to start moving stuff to the MS. The fiber is still not hooked up to the building so we cannot really test anything but we can put it in place. I'm hoping they will start putting my tables for the lab together tomorrow. The next step will be to get the lab ready. Have a great day!

Wednesday: Hope everyone enjoyed their extra days off. Unfortunately those are added on to the end of the year :( Please have Chapter 3 fininished and be ready to test on it Friday. I think we will be working in the MS soon--I know I've said that forever but that is what they keep telling me. In the mean time I have printers for us to set up on all the machines. We'll still keep busy.

Wednesday: We will continue to install new pc's at the elementary. I am turning my attention to core data and will be meeting with some administrator's at the rock house at noon today and again tomorrow morning at 9. Tuesday: I wanted to take the new PC's to the elementary today but at the time I'm posting it is pouring down rain. We'll see what it is like around 12:00. Things are going well but would be better if we could get into the middle school. :( Hopefully soon.

Monday: Hope everyone had a good weekend. We will concentrate on exchanging teachers pc's this week. I will walk through with you doing this the first time. TAKE NOTES if you can't remember how to do things. I'm noticing that I have to tell you how to do things over and over. You are supposed to be writing it down so you have something to refer back to.

Friday: I am not here today but writing the blog early so you can be sure to let me know what you did. Look for a note from me in my office, probably taped to my screen. At the end of Thursday I'll see where we are at and leave a note. The 5 of you working in the book need to have chapter 3 finished by December 17. Thursday: Well there are some huge PowerSchool problems I am going to be wrapped up in today AND a new server for the middle school is arriving later this morning. I will not be here on Friday. I will have you finish up the computers that are left and then work on Chapter 3 in your book. This has to be complete by December 17.

Friday: Yeah, it is Friday again! I am going to buy more clips for the patch cables this morning and then going to the superintendent's office to work on core data information. We will work on cables today and hopefully be done with around 75 of them. Adam and Cole -- you all count today to see where we are at. We are going to not do any blogging next week since it is only a 2-day week. I will be gone on Tuesday morning for a doctor's appointment with my kids. I'll be in for the afternoon. Just and fyi. Wednesday: I walked through the Middle School yesterday and checked out all the network drops and realized we need a bunch more patch cables. We need to concentrate on that the rest of the week. I've placed the orders for PC's and they will be here on or shortly after Dec. 1.

Monday: Last full week we have to catch up on everything. I am working on a technology survey for all students and staff and will be deploying that this week. Remember to have all of Chapter 2 finished by Friday and I have a yellow pad on my desk where you need to write down where your podcast is stored. I want to grade those this week. Have a great week!

Friday: I've forgotten to get a post started the last couple of days so when you blog today review what you did for the last couple of days. I entered grades for Chapter 1 and I want everyone to tell me where your podcast is stored. Tell me and then write it down so I don't forget! I'm giving you a deadline of next Friday for Chapter 2 (Nov. 21). We need to get these finished before we are into moving. Work on it!

Monday: Well, I'm behind already. I spent first hour at the rock house on a monitor issue and then 2 hours on the phone with PowerSchool. That never makes my day. I know you all are tired of making cables and working on your two assignments but if you get the assignments finished then I'll have to find something new to do. We will have no time after Thanksgiving so lets get as much of the other stuff done now. I will be gone on Tuesday. Look for a note from me in the office and/or on the blog.

Wednesday: I guess I forgot to start the blog yesterday so everyone gets a day off. I am going to try to start focusing some of my attention to getting my technology plan updated. This has to be turned in to the State in April and be approved. So there is some pressure to do it correctly and I must get started. Kinda like writing a major research paper--sometimes you never get away from that stuff! I want everyone to either finish Chapter 1 (including the test) or their blog by this Friday.

Monday: I forgot to mention to everyone that I would be at a workshop in Columbia today learning about detecting and removing Malware from computers. I hope to teach you something new that I learn. While I am gone everyone should work on Chapter 1. I would like to see this finished and tested over by the end of this week. A preliminary podcast should also be recorded. You will want to practice once or twice before finalizing the podcast. Use your time wisely while I am gone and you will also need to work on some of this for homework. I will be asking to see Chapter 1 and listen to your practice podcast by the end of the week.

Wednesday: We will be working on making patch cables for a couple of days for the new middle school. This will get us ready for moving all the equipment there. Please test your cables with the laptop on the back table in my office. The cable tester doesn't seem to be working well. We will be making cables in 4 ft., 8 ft, and 10 ft. lengths for now.

Tuesday: I think I will make an offer to teachers to bring in home PC's for us to look at during down time. This will give each of you experience in working on computers and trying to figure out what is wrong with them. We will be very busy again in early December with the Middle School but we have a little time now. We'll try it and see how it goes.

Monday: Hope everyone had a great weekend. This week I will be working on getting the report cards ready for parent/teacher conferences on Thursday as well as continue working on data verification for our state reports. A lot more seat work at my computer than I would probably like. I don't see anything looming in the future as far as computer repairs. We'll see how the week progresses. You will probably have some time to work on your projects.

Wednesday: Yesterday I went to see a Promethian board demo and it is very cool. This board is the competitor to the Smart Board and it has some features that the SB does not have. It also has a response system where the students can be asked questions and they touch a number on the pad and the teacher gets all the results. Very neat! Looks like we are getting close to getting al the PC's reformatted. I'll find something new to do soon!

Thursday: I will be attending a construction meeting this morning at 11:00 a.m. on the middle school. I will see how the wiring and such is coming in the building and find out what items I need to be purchasing so we are ready to set everything in there when it is finished. Wednesday: Oops, I forgot to blog yesterday when I was at the conference. I read all of your posts and sounds like one of the PC's (#3) was giving you all some trouble. The fact that I wasn't here was probably good because you all had to use some problem solving skills. I'm hoping that when we actually put these PC's into the new lab they are all working and loaded with the software we need. I will be playing catch-up all day and I know there are some classrooms you guys will need to visit today. Check in with me and we'll go from there.
PS: I learned about a some cool new web sites and things we can do at the conference so hopefully we will get to those very soon.

Monday: I am at a conference at the Lake today and Tuesday. I want you to work on reformatting the PC's from Mrs. Buschjost's room. I also want each of you to blog before the end of the hour and tell what you accomplished on the computers that are on the counter. That way the next hour can check the blog and see what is left to do on those machines. Communitation is the key and this is the tool to use. I will be checking the blog from the conference and home and leave messages as I see necessary. Be good and stay in the lab.

Tuesday: Well it looks like the PowerSchool upgrade went ok, actually it was very smooth and quick. We were back up and running in about 1.5 horus. Today we will review DOS commands and I'm planning the test for tomorrow-Wednesday.

Another rainy day. I think we'll try to stay in the lab and work on reformatting machines. I spent a lot of time at the Rock House yesterday seeing why they did not have the Internet or network drives. I tested the cable running between the elem and there and it tested good. I then took another switch up there and that did the trick. The switch is not very old and under warranty so I will be calling today to get that replaced. Have a good day, lk
